| Why a
27 hour course format? |
| |
| It takes time to convert
information into behavior. It’s not enough to just
know what to do; it takes practice and reinforcement
to know how to make the changes. The basic 9 week
format allows participants time to try ideas on the
job, to get comfortable with different ways of doing
things, and to discuss their experience in class
with the instructor and fellow participants. The
courses require on the job application and direct
feedback to the instructor about how participants
are using the information. |
| |
| What
makes Management You courses different from other
management courses? |
| |
| These courses stress thinking on
your feet while keeping a value-oriented focus for
the customer. There are no pat answers to questions
of supervising and managing—no recipes or trite
lists of how-tos. These courses compel participants
to understand the dynamics that underlie the
interpersonal and work process issues they face in
real time. The overarching goal of the courses is to
help individuals become fundamentally more effective
and better human beings, and that involves more than
training. |
| |
| Why
should we invest in this type of course for our
employees? |
| |
| Simply put: because it’s all
about people. It takes people to design the systems,
run the equipment, solve the problems, interact with
the customers, and turn a profit. In the end, only
people add value to the company. The key to a great
organization is great managers. The number one
reason employees at all levels leave a company is
because of ineffective supervision and management.
Developing managers is simply too important to skimp
on. |
| |
| Why
should I invest in this type of course for myself? |
| |
| You can apply the value principles
immediately to your professional and personal
relationships. Management You courses compel you to
call yourself into question--soul searching
realities of how you think about yourself, how you
create value for yourself and others and how your
potential for meaningful growth is unlimited. If you
earnestly apply the principles delivered in
Management You courses, all your relationships will
improve dramatically. |
| |
| What's
the best way to involve our managers? |
| |
| Either bring the course in-house to
work on common issues, or enroll one or more
managers in a mixed class with managers from other
organizations. Both experiences work equally well. |
| |
| Can
the courses be customized for our organization? |
| |
| Yes. There is plenty of flexibility
to add components or to allow your staff to give
more detailed organization-specific information. |
| |
| Should
we do management skill assessment first? |
| |
| That’s optional. Feedback is
always helpful. The courses include a number of
self-assessments. Also additional assessment
components can be added to the courses if desired. |
